The French Ministry of Culture presented Li Ang with the  de l’ Ordre des Arts et des Lettres  -  Chevalier to recognize her outstanding literary achievements and introduce her works to French readers in 2004.

 

Li Ang’s novel  Bloody Sacrifice with Color Make-Up  was adapted into a dance theather  under the title  DIE BRAUTSCHMINKERIN. Intergrated Taiwanese music and literature into the dance,  the play Bridal Makeup was performed in Germany, Austria and nominated for the German Theatre Association’s Der Faust award.

 

 

Li Ang , is one of the most prolific and innovative writers on the contemporary Chinese-language literary scene. She has consistently and persistently challenged her readers to confront socio-cultural issues and taboos that range from gender, sexuality, ethics, and domestic violence, to government atrocity, and identity politics.
